Joan Sederholm Muzzin

After graduating from Concordia College, I moved to California and taught business subjects at Wasco Union High School, moving later to Santa Maria, CA where I taught at Righetti High School.

Took a few years off to be home with my two daughters. Attended the University of San Francisco in 1978-1980 where I received my Master's Degree in Marriage, Child, & Family therapy. Was in Private Practice until retirement in 2001.

I'm totally enjoying retirement, taking writing classes and others just for the fun of it. My daughters and four grandchildren live here in Santa Rosa, and I'm completely involved in their lives and activities.

Angelo and I enjoy traveling both alone and with friends. Our last trip was 11 days in Alaska. It was spectacular!

My four years at North Toole County High School were some of the happiest times of my life. I loved how our small town supported our school as well as our school activities. Being part of the High School band and traveling by train to lead the Portland Oregon Rose Parade is unforgettable. The fund raising for our trip was too. I'm remembering "rabbit pelts!" Could that be?

In working as a therapist with teenagers through the years, I felt a sadness that high school didn't seem to be as much fun for them as it was in the 50's. Most just wanted it over.
