Wendy Sue (Carrico) Kennedy
May 1, 1950 ~ November 22, 2022

Wendy Sue Kennedy, 72, passed away Monday, November 22, 2022, at Northern Rockies Medical Center, in Cut Bank.

Wendy was born May 1, 1950, in Shelby, to the late Woodrow and Ruth (Anderson) Carrico.  She graduated from Montana State University – Northern in 1972, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Education degree.  She met her husband, James “Jim”, while attending college in Havre, and they were married on June 3, 1972. They were married for 50 years.

Wendy worked as an elementary school teacher for the Shelby and Browning Public School Systems.  She earned a master’s degree in education from Montana State University – Bozeman.  She was intelligent, dedicated, passionate, caring, and hard-working.  Wendy was part of a team of educators that introduced new methods to help the kids she taught.  She educated multiple generations, including grandparents, parents, and children until her retirement.  Even after retirement she continued decorating the showcases for the children at K.W. Began Elementary School. She was a teacher and most of all she was a beautiful soul with a huge heart.

She was very loved by others for her kindness, laughter, and fun energy.  She liked life and took joy in small things.  She loved her entire family and enjoyed attending gatherings to catch up with everyone.

She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Browning; daughters, Jamie Kennedy of Billings, Jena Kennedy of Great Falls, and Jordan (Skyler) Rydberg of Billerica, MA; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wendy’s family is planning a memorial celebration at the Kennedy Family Ranch at a later date in Spring 2023.

Donations can be made in Wendy's name to Logan Health Cut Bank.
