James and Kaylene Tomayer Obituary

James Tomayer, 74, of North Central Montana, passed away on September 12, 2023 at his farm.  Kaylene Tomayer, 70, of North Central Montana, passed away on September 25, 2021 in Kalispell.  They celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary on September 23, 2021.  

 James, beloved father, was born in Shelby and Kaylene, beloved mother, in Bountiful, Utah. They met in a chance encounter at West Yellowstone when they were both on vacation with friends and fell in love.  They loved each other very much. Surviving family of two daughters and son-in-law, Monica Tomayer of Conrad and Valerie and Jeremy Ashby of Kalispell; two granddaughters, Violet and Lavender; along with many grandpets; James’s brothers, Nick (Rose) Tomayer, Ken (Fay) Tomayer, Jerry (Debby) Tomayer and sister, Pat Moye; Kaylene’s sister Barb Fenwick, brother-in-law Dale Driscoll and many nieces and nephews on both sides.  Both were preceded in death by their parents, James’s Joe and Ann Tomayer and Kaylene’s Max and Bonnie Jensen; James’s brother-in-law, Larry Moye; Kaylene’s sisters, Sharon Jensen and Vicki Driscoll and brother-in-law, David Fenwick.

 Kaylene loved the farm, crafting, sewing, watching TV until the early hours, listening to music, quilting, and spending time with family and friends and babysitting grand pets.  James loved fishing, hunting, camping, farming, ranching, working with his hands, being outdoors and helping or rescuing his daughters by doing assorted jobs.

 A Celebration of Life for James and Kaylene will be held on October 7, 2023 at Asper /Pondera Funeral Home in Conrad at 2 pm. A reception at the Conrad Moose Lodge will follow. James and Kaylene will be deeply missed. All friends and family are welcome to attend to pay their respects and celebrate James and Kaylene's lives.
