 Mark Frederick Young was born on October 10, 1951 in Shelby. He was the second of five children of Irvin Allen Young and Mary Katherine (Noble) Young. He grew up in Oilmont and Sunburst, graduating from North Toole County High School, Sunburst in 1971. Following graduation, he went to auto college in Great Falls, and finished in 1972. In November 11, 1972 Mark married Rosanette Hasselstrom. In 1978 they made their home in Kevin and began raising their two children.

 Mark worked in the oilfield for Comanche Drilling. Rosanette was a certified nursing assistant when she worked. The family was involved with Grace Gospel Church in Sunburst and Milk River. Mark started dealing with seizures in 1991and had a brain tumor removed in 1992. He was lucky enough to have relatively good health up until death. He enjoyed his work which included welding, mechanics, and woodworking. From 1994-1995 he built an addition to his house.

 One of Mark’s passions was sharing Jesus Christ with people. He had a deep conviction to serve in the church. He was a drummer for the church, which came from drumming in high school and in bands. For a season he cleaned the church building for Grace Gospel. He loved music, woodworking, metal working, building complex things like trailers and overhauling cars.

 Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Rosanette (Hasselstrom) Young on July 5, 2018; his parents; numerous family and friends. He is survived by his son, Mark Shannon Young (Roberta Young) of Cut Bank; his daughter, Christina Young of Kevin; his granddaughter, Jazmine Mindl of Cut Bank; his older brother, Dean (Jeanette) Young of Shelby; his younger sister, Iva (Dusty) Baily of Oilmont; his youngest sister, Sylvia (Bill) Lucchese of Shelby; and his youngest brother, Vern (Rosemary) Young of Livingston.

 His Memorial Service will be held at New Life Community Church in Shelby at 111 Gallatin Street on February 17 at 2:00PM. A reception will follow at New Life. The interment is being planned of the spring/summer of this year.
