What is there to say about Gumby that I can sum up in this area.....he was a wonderful person, an outstanding scholar and one of the best friends a person could ever have.....I was lucky to be able to go to my first and last high school dances (freshman homecoming and senior prom) with John as my friend (date) and must say that senior prom was the best of them all....We connected lots after high school, but not nearly enough. He was able to sing at my wedding and was supposed to deliver my first child, but that was not to be as his life was cut way too short.
What a man you were John Hesla.......Love and miss you to this day!!!

John was GREAT! I truly miss him. I remember dancing many times at the Lot 13 along with many other friends. John made every day fun and humorous. John save a dance for me when I see you in heaven! Laura "Hammer" Kessner

I can remember oh too many times you were over at our house for dinner during the push time for Science Seminar, and getting ready to go out to dance at the lot, and the time we were going to Big Mountain for skiing at 5am and stopped at youe house to pick you up and I had to go in the house to get you up with everyone else in the family still asleep. I can remember long talks in Seattle about the twists of life when I was Tracy's "nanny" for her little boy. I still think of you with good thought, especially anytime I go out two stepping and do some swing. You were a great dancer. Put me on you dance card when I get home.

Ah, Gumby. What a guy. He was always great to everyone. When I went back to university in the 90's I had his cousin as one of my professors. What a small world. I still see his smile. John, you went too soon. Every time I go home and drive past your place, I always think of you. Kathy
