Ron and I were the only guys--among a gaggle of gals--working on "The Refiner" during my senior year.  He was great fun to work with, and we had a blast attending the journalism seminar at the University in Missoula.  Ron had a real talent for sports reporting, wrote some great stuff; go to the school library and look at the file of '58 issues.  I knew he came from good stock, but he really proved his courage later on, recovering from the drilling rig accident that cost him a leg.  I miss you, Ron.  RIP, my friend.

I didn't realize Ron had passed, and didn't know anything about him after high school.

I do remember giving a speech in English class.  My speech was an advertisement for some pretend beauty nail product.  It ended with:  "--- And you'll attract the most handsome guy in town."  That was the cue for Ron to come sauntering up to the front of the class as that 'most handsome guy in town'.

So now you know what I thought of Ron!
