Joanne Polinkus (Hannon) - Class Of 1950 VIEW PROFILE

Joanne Louise Hannon, “GG,” passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in Kalispell.

Born in Sunburst on June 24, 1932, Joanne married Ernest S. Hannon at the Sunburst Methodist Church on Jan. 29, 1949. Ernie and Joanne made their lives centered around small town values and a large extended family. Farming and ranching kept them busy raising sheep and grain in Toole County. They lived in Helena from 1987 until last year, when she moved to Kalispell. Joanne loved life and had a special bond with her four grandchildren. She was always present in their lives and cared deeply for all of her family and friends, old and new.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Myrtle Polinkus; husband Ernie; daughters Connie and Darla; brother Roy Polinkus; and sisters Hazel Grady, Bernice Aschim and Dorothy Ruckdaschel.  She is survived by her children, Terri Lerum and Mark of Helena, Susan Roark and Jack of Kalispell, and Lane and Carol Hannon of Benton, Kansas; brother, Gordon Polinkus, of Blaine, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joanne’s grandchildren are Jodi Leone of Bozeman, Cody Lerum and Jennifer of Bozeman, Kyle Roark and Missy of Moses Lake, Washington, and Ryan Roark of Kalispell. Great-grandchildren are Blake Leone and Jackson and Levi Roark.

She enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Joanne was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Methodist Church and a member of the Helena Garden Club.

Special thank you to the staff and family at Wel-Life of Kalispell for all of the love and support this past year. She truly enjoyed her time there.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Harrison.
