Gertrude Hey (Breuer) - Class Of 1935


DIXON - Gertrude Katherine Breuer, 86, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, in her home near Dixon, Montana of natural causes.

She was born January 1, 1916, in Ferdig to Nicholas and Katherine Hey. On April 4, 1940, she married Herbert Peter "Bud" Breuer in Sunburst. A devoted mother and homemaker, Gertrude lived in the Sunburst area where she and her husband were engaged in farming. In 1959, the couple operated a farm/ranch operation in the Geraldine area until 1968 when they moved near Dixon and ranched.

Gertrude enjoyed crafts, teaching religion, and volunteer work. She was an aide at Holy Family Hospital and helped at the Dixon Library, Senior Citizens, and had been the Grand Marshall at Melon Days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Peter "Bud", two sons Eugene and Victor, sister Katherine Kimmet, and a brother Edward Hey.

Survivors include her children and their spouses ; grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Interment was in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery.
