Sharon Lawson (Dill) (1961)

After graduating from NTCHS in 1961, Louise Nutter, got a nursing degree. She met and married a fellow student who was from Sweden. They moved to Sweden and she lived there for the rest of her life. She had two children, was later divorced, and made frequent trips back to the US to visit family & friends. It was before one of those trips, in June of 2001, that several of us started talking about getting together while Louise was in the states. We settled on Ft. Benton because that was where Louise would be spending time with her sister, Ruth, and her mother, Edna. Others heard about the plan and we ended up with nine of the “gals” from our class having a mini-reunion in Ft. Benton. Some of us had not seen each other for a long time and we had a great time.

I am so glad we had that opportunity to visit with Louise and meet her friend, Lasse. On Jan. 1st, 2002, Louise died of cancer. If she knew in June that she had cancer, she did not say anything to us. So don’t pass up an opportunity to renew an old friendship – we never know how much time we have left.
