Albert had made the Army his career. He was serving at Fort Belvoir, Va as a chief imagery analyst for the Intelligence and Security Command. Albert married Evelyn Wigen from Devon in 1983. His first son, Jay was born in 1986 and a second son, William, was born in 1988. Albert, Evelyn, Jay, Will and Albert's sister Jaydeen were all killed in an automobile accident in Indianapolis on August 22, 1999. Albert was buried with full military honors at the Sunburst Cemetery.

Albert Norling was my uncle. We were so lucky that we lived so close to one another. We were able to celebrate Christmas's, Thanksgiving's, birthday's and lots and lots of weekends. We had no idea we had such little time to pack a lifetime of memories into, but we sure did. (thanks to Albert's itineries :)) We had a blast and for those of you that knew my Uncle, we laughed a lot! Jay and William had a happy life and were amazing little boys. Aunt Evelyn was such a sweet soul and lived life to the fullest. I miss them all so much!

In high school, Albert was always smiling and usually involoved with some prank. I remember when the shop and drafting classes were full, and Albert and I had to sign up for Home Economics class. We played the game Life as much as we could to lessen the pain. If it had not been for Albert, I dont think I could have made it.
Later I found that Albert had joined the military, and he found that I had joined the same club. Whenever either of us were home, we would ask about each other. So our moms, Betty and Charlotte would ask after each others military kid.
Albert was always a ray of sunshine, ready with a smile, and if someone needed help with something, he would help no matter the problem.
I knew his wife through 4-H and she was a lovely person. They were both so lucky to have each found such a nice partner.
We all miss you and think of you often Albert!

Please, whoever can edit Alberts profile needs to add the American flag, as he was about to retire from the Army as a Master Sergeant!
