John Doggett

July 4, 1935 - July 19, 2023

On July 19, 2023, Ralph “John” G. Doggett surrounded by his family, reached out and took the hand of God to join his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Burial with military honors will be at a later date in Sunburst, Mont.

Ralph was born in Sunburst, Mont. on July 4, 1935, the seventh of ten children to Ralph and Iva Doggett. When he was born, the doctor said he didn’t look like a “Ralph” so called him “Johnny” a name that stuck with him throughout his life.

He joined the Marine Corp after graduating high school in Sunburst. He later joined the Montana Air National Guard and was stationed in Great Falls. Upon retirement from MANG, he and Nancy moved to Tucson, Ariz., which allowed him to golf year-round. Golf was a sport he loved and participated in it until the end. They then moved to San Antonio, Texas, to be near their son and granddaughters where they lived for 20+ years. Seven years ago, they returned to Montana to be near their daughter and her family.

He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Nancy Berthelote Doggett; son, Mark (Adrianna); daughter Barbara (Jonathon Schoof); granddaughters Amy and Alyssa; grandson Jonathon; two great grandsons; sister Doris Keil and brothers Jerry and Charles.
