1959 attended University of Montana at Missoula
1960 married Wayne Dorcas in the Sunburst Methodist Church
1970 Wayne, Dale, Dean and I moved to Bellingham.
2009 Love my extended family, which includes Dale, Dean, daughter-in-law Danene, grandsons Branden and Nathen, Wayne Dorcas and his lovely wife, Becky. Also, Larry Gilfilen (my husband) and his family who are all living in Bellingham.
After investing in real estate for 25 years with son, Dale, I am now an Independent Distributor for Amazon Herb Company, loving contributing to the health and wealth of myself and others, and helping to save the Rainforest. Life is good.
Larry bought me a motorcycle a few years back. We soon discovered I am NOT a good rider, so we sold that bike and since then I have been content to ride behind him on HIS motorcycle. And even more fun for me is driving my little blue Smart Car. Soon, (hopefully) Smart Cars and other fuel-efficient vehicles will be such a common sight that mine will no longer be unique. |

School Story: |
|
We had moved from Sunburst when I was 7 years old, and lived in Cascade in the winters where Dad was school Supt. My one desire was to return to Sunburst, which to me meant returning to heaven.
On this particular summer day, I was 13 years old, making sandwiches in the kitchen of our cabin at Polebridge. Mom walked over to me with a smile in her eyes. She said, "Hazen just got hired as superintendent of schools in Sunburst. How would you like to move back there?"
In those days, I didn't consider it appropriate to cry for joy, so I just smiled, finished the sandwiches, then ran into the woods and yelled out as loud as I could "Yaahooooooooooo!"
That fall I started the eighth grade in Sunburst, and I felt literally that I was living in heaven. |
