Karen Mae Schaeffer
April 25, 1941 -- 25 Jan 1995

KALISPELL - Karen Mae Bashor Schaeffer, 53, of Kalispell, a former bank teller, died Wednesday in a Kalispell hospital of a stroke.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is 11 AM Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Kalispell, followed by a reception in the church. Johnson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Karen was born in Shelby April 25, 1941 to Howard and Betty Bashor of Oilmont. 

After graduating from North Toole County High School, she attended Kinman Business College in Spokane and then moved to Whitefish, where she worked as a bank teller.

She lived in Kalispell the past several years.

A member of the Methodist and Presbyterian churches, she became an active participant in the Bosom Buddies Cancer Support Group following a battle with breast cancer.

Survivors include two daughters, Kim Schaeffer of Grangeville, Idaho and Lori Castilleja of South Carolina; her father, Howard Bashor of Kalispell; and four grandchildren.
