School Story:
When I think of gradeschool in Sunburst, the first thing that comes to mind is one of my favorite people of all time, Dwight Billedeaux. Dwight started with our class when we were in the 5th grade and he followed our class all the way thru the 8th grade. Dwight started our scout troop and we had scouting during school time. He had such an impact on all of us boys that we all stayed in scouting through high school. The Wolf Patrol consisting of Sherrill, Charlie, Robert, GB, Lee, Billy, Jerry, Earl and myself all became Eagle Scouts with the exception of Earl. Earl was a Life Scout and he moved away before he completed his Eagle requirements.
Not only was Dwight our teacher and scoutmaster he was our football, basketball and track coach so we saw him from morning until evening for several years.
Since in high school I took advantage of Blanch's easy nature and didn't really do anything in English for 4 years. My lack of learning was very evident when I went to college and I flunked my first six essays. The first essay that I finally past was one I wrote about a person that had greatly influenced my life, Dwight Billedeaux.
