Dale Erickson - Class Of 1951

A graveside memorial service will be held for Dale Erickson on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 2 PM in the Highland  Cemetery in Great Falls, take the second right. A reception will follow at the VFW Club on 10th Ave. S.


Dale was 82 on his passing on Nov. 23, 2014. He was residing in Surprise, AZ. The cause of death was prostate cancer.


Dale was born on March 19, 1932, in Shelby, to Sidney and Ellen Erickson. Dale graduated from Sunburst High School in 1951. From there he spent time in the Marines and the U.S. Army and got to see service in Germany. Dale was employed by the Great Northern Railroad and Mountain Bell Telephone. The jobs had him working in Shelby, Glasgow and Sunburst.
 

He married Lovisa Barker from Glasgow on Nov. 9, 1958. After her demise he married Marcie Wix in Sun City, AZ, in 2002. He moved to Juneau, Alaska, and then on to Anchorage, while working for the telephone company.
 

Dale enjoyed fishing and hunting while in Alaska. He also became an avid golfer while in Alaska, more so after moving to Arizona, where he could play year-round. He was active in the Masonic Lodge in Great Falls, Elks Club while in Alaska, and the VFW.
 

He is survived by Marcie Wix Erickson of Surprise, AZ; his sisters, Cleone Gunn, Sylvia Delp and Marda Miller; 17 nephews and nieces.
 

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don and Robert “Bob”; his spouse Lovisa; son, Richard “Ricky” Reed; and granddaughter, Stacey.
 

Again, a graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Highland Cemetery, Great Falls, at 2 p.m.
