Audrey Chase (Bergman) - Class Of 1949 VIEW PROFILE


Conrad —Audrey Rose Bergman 84, of Conrad passed away Thursday at PMC extended care unit with family by her side. 

Audrey was born October 15, 1931 at Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to William and Mary Alice Chase. She was raised in Lethbridge until 1943 when they moved to Sunburst. She graduated from North Toole County High School in 1949 then went to work for the telephone company in Shelby as a switchboard operator. She married her husband of 64 years, Marcus Bergman, in 1951. They resided in Sunburst until they moved to Sweetgrass in May of 1952 where they spent the next 36 years. During that time she helped raise their 5 children, worked for the US Postal Service and helped run their family business, The Border Service. She was involved in the American Legion Auxiliary and the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. They moved to Arizona City, AZ, enjoying the retirement years, returning each summer to Glacier Park until 2005. They moved to Conrad but continued spending the summers in West Glacier until health issues forced them to stop. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, cross stitch, bingo, bridge, golf, cribbage, traveling, Mother/Daughter shopping trips, and all of her family. She truly enjoyed all aspects of what life brought her. Her faith was strong and her walk was steadfast. When once asked how she would want to be remembered, she responded: "I loved my family". 

She is survived by her husband, Marcus; children, Gary (La Donna), Patrick (Mary) both of Fulshear, TX, Michael of Ethridge, Sharon (Ray) Stoetzel of Conrad, and Mary Ann (Paul) McCann of Havre, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Danner of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Lillian Linnell and Mary Murphy; daughter in law, Karen Bergman; as well as numerous nephews, a niece, brothers, and sisters in-law. 

Memorials can be made to the Sweetgrass American Legion.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
