Bill Crockford - Class Of 1946

Bill Crockford passed away on the 27th of November, 2007, due to respiratory failure.  At the time of his death, Bill was a resident of Essex, Montana.

Bill was survived by daughters Theresa Norman, Great Falls; Mary Ellen Crockford, Helena; and Mary Pat Cyprian, Missoula; sons William R. "Dick" Crockford, Dillon; Paul J. Crockford, Shelby; Patrick Crockford, LeMoore, Calif; and Christopher Crockford, Billings.

Bill was well known in Toole, Chouteau and Glacier counties throughout his professional career as a mechanic and service manager. He and his wife, the late Doris M. Crockford, were always steadfast in their Roman Catholic faith and active in their parish communities. After the graduation of their youngest daughter in 1997, they retired to their cabin at Pinnacle, west of Essex, where they lived out the rest of their lives. My dad taught us to do our very best and apply ourselves fully, to be proud of the family name and who we are, to love God and to live honorable lives. We children have done well by that advice. There is not room enough here to recount Dad's lengthy list of accomplishments, which included active community service as a volunteer fireman (several years as chief) in Fort Benton. He and Mom were also active in the local community theater group there. His memory lives on in the legacy of family he left behind. Not a day goes by that his influence is not experienced in one way or another,
