Don Alme - Class Of 1964

Donald Lee Alme, 52, died suddenly at his Cut Bank home on Thursday, November 6,1998, of natural causes.

A vigil service was held Monday.  Funeral services were Tuesday, November 10th, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Cut Bank with Father Stan Popowski officiating. Burial with military honors followed in Crown Hill Cemetery. 

He was born Aug. 24, 1946, in Shelby and grew up on the family farm in Toole County. He graduated from Sunburst High School in 1964.  He served four years in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He graduated from Montana State University Bozeman.  He worked as a pipe line welder in the oilfield as well as farmed in Toole County.  

On Feb. 21, 1984, Don married  Myrna Brierly in Las Vegas, NV, and appreciated his step family,  David, Shane and Curtiss, very  much.. 

Survivors include his parents, Henry S. and Irene Alme of Kevin; sisters, Arlene Lager of Shelby and Mary Bergman of Midland, Texas; brothers, Marvin Alme of Los Alamos, NM, Henry A. Alme of Cut Bank, Steen Alme of  Ferdig and Terry Alme of Oilmont; and several nieces and nephews.

Burns Funeral Home handled arrangements.  Pallbearers were Mark Graves, Pat Lager, Shane Brierly, Curtiss Dumontier, Aaron Alme, Mike Lager, David Stevenson and Bill Byrne.  Honorary pallbearers were all his friends.

Memorials will be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
