Tim Meagher - Class Of 1964

It's not how you die; it's how well you lived, and Tim had done just that… Oct. 1, 2009, at the age of 63, Tim passed away peacefully with his children at his side.

Timothy D. Meagher was born to Joseph and Doris Meagher in Cut Bank, Mont., on May 20, 1946. He grew up and attended high school in Sunburst, Mont., and later went on to graduate from the University of Montana. During those years he married and started his family.

Tim worked as a certified public accountant for many years as his family grew. Soon he had three daughters and a son.

Over the years, after career, location and life changes, his path led him back to Helena, where his passion became design and construction. Tim had many other passions including boat racing, fast cars and Harleys.

Tim was a proud family man and a friend to many. The "Lone Wolf" will be missed but never forgotten…

Tim is survived by his three daughters, Jacque Ostby (Wayne), Barbara LeMere (Craig) and Marci Smiley (Rob); his, son Timothy O. Meagher; grandsons, Andrew, Brett, Chase, Cole and Austin; mother, Doris (Holtz) Meagher; brother, Terry Meagher; sister, Marcia (Meagher) Bragg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Meagher; brother, Thomas Meagher and beloved niece Mary Lynn Bragg.

At the family's request, memorials may be made to the Oncology Unit at St. Peter's Hospital C/O St. Peter's Hospital Foundation 2475 Broadway Street Helena, Montana 59601.

A celebration of Tim's life is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Retz Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will be held at the Eagles Lodge on Fee Street immediately following the memorial service.
