Comments:

Well, here I am finally with some comments. I have Joan Sederholm to thank as hers was the first site that I saw that had any comments. So thanks. I have just viewed Ernie Taft's site also. So impressive. I'm not to the photo profile yet so that will have to wait.

I'm thinking of dedicating this comment site to my folks. I keep thinking that if it weren't for them we would not have known each other and the fond memories of growing up in Sunburst Town.

My mother Neva Gessner Vasboe followed her sister Frances Gessner Leary to Sunburst around the 1937 time. Frances had come to Sunburst with a friend, Ann Beecher. They were all from the Penn, Churches Ferry. Devils Lake area of North Dakota. Mom met my father, C (Carl) Norman Vasboe in Sunburst. He was a chemical engineer for Texaco having graduated from Montana State College in Bozeman. He was raised on a ranch/farm north of Cut Bank so Sunburst area was home to him.

My sis Eunice was born in 1940; me, 1942; brother Carl in 1951; and sis Karin in 1953. Upon graduating from Sunburst in 1960, my dad was one of the last people to leave the refinery in June of that year. Most every one was sent to Anancortes, but he was sent to Casper, WY where he eventually retired. I was on my way to college that fall, to Concordia and I did graduate there in 1964 with a BS degree in Education: Physical Education with a Math minor.

I have often thought that the best place on earth to raise children would be in small town America. I still think that. Oh those most wonderful, free, active Sunburst years. When I think of small town, America, the only visual I have is, of course, Sunburst.

My synopsis: 1964-1966 Thaugt physical ed in Duluth MN, 10th Grade.
1966-1969 PE in Prince George's County Schools, MD elementary (1yr) and PE Junior High, 7th grade (2yrs)
1970-1972 Army Recreation Services, Service Club Director, Vietman..
9mths Long Binh, 3mths Chu Chi,
3mths Bear Cat, 1yr DaNang.
1973 Entered the US Army at Annistion Al. (More details to be added later)
1984 entered the Reserves as an IMA (Individual Mobilization Augmentee) and entered Civil Service for the US Navy as a GS 9.
2002 retired from US Army Reserves (LTC) and Navy Civil Service GS-13.
2002 Move from Falls Church, VA to Fallon, NV where I had met my husband, Carl in 1990.
NOTE: Will continue to up date these comments as an ongoing project.
