After graduating from Eastern Montana College in Billings, I attended the Columbus Hospital School of Medical Technology and have been employed there and at what is now Benefis Health Systems since 1982.
Les and I had 3 beautiful daughters and divorced in 1995. I am happily single, raising the girls who are all excellent students and accomplished athletes, despite their mother having no such talents. We have all become very interested in hiking and take glorious backback trips all over Montana, hiking over steep mountain passes, exploring spectacular vistas, and loving it all.
Ten or twelve years ago, I took up running as a hobby, as it helps me stay in shape so that I can get my butt up the mountain when we are hiking. The girls have all become runners also, being much better at it than I am. Liz even runs cross country in college at ST. Olaf. We participate in the Ice Breaker Road Race every April, and I even did a half-marathon at the governor's cup a few years ago, and am just starting training to do another one this summer.
I was diagosed with breast cancer in 2002, but after surgery and chemotherapy, have been cancer free since then and have a very good prognosis. I lost both of my parents to cancer - my mother in 1996, and Tommy seven years later.
I miss my mom a lot. She had lived with me after Kate was born, and the girls were the light of her life, and I am so sorry that they won't know her better.
But, life is good. I am very happy, enjoying an active and full life. I have worked in the lab at the hospital for 26 years. Wow, that is a long time.I have not gotton very far from Sunburst, being only in Great Falls, but I rarely go up there. I do read about everyone's children, about science fairs and athletics and take pride in the fact that I was from Sunburst....
