Kurt Hilliard

I went to MSU-Billings COT for diesel mechanics in 1978 & graduated and went right to work for Yellowstone Hydraulics(now Spencer Fluid Power which is in the fluid power division of Applied Industrial Technologies)on March 1, 1979. Yep, almost 40 years. Boy, time flies when you"re having fun doesn't it. I worked in the pump dept. and then moved into the supervisor position for over 15 yrs where I had 8 guys working under me and 15-16 yrs ago moved out of the shop and into the office where I deal more with our customers as a service writer/advisor.
Met Cathy, as I worked with her dad and we married in 1981. We have 3 beautiful children that along with Cathy and the 6 grandkids (and grandpuppies) I love more than anything in the world. Cathy & I have the empty nest syndrome except for Martha our 6 yr old basset hound (who passed passed away in 2017 & now we have Mercedes, half Corgi & mini aussie)and when we watch the grandkids. We use to go to garage sales a lot but now we go to auctions and also to storage units where we bid on & hopefully purchase forclosed units. You wouldn't believe the stuff people leave in these units. We then keep what we want for ourselves & kids and friends and sell it outright or take stuff to be sold at the auctions we go to. Some goes to Goodwill or some charity and there is always a load to the dump and recycling center. If we are not doing that then we go camping & fishing and kayaking.

My mom, Ruby Hilliard passed away in Dec, 2010 after living here in Billings for 22 yrs after retiring from Postmaster in Oilmont. So we sure do miss her here.
