George Delbert Wiegand 


SHELBY - George Delbert Wiegand, 58, a farmer and construction worker from Shelby, died of natural causes Tuesday, April 3, at his home in Medford, Ore. 

Memorial services are 11 am Wednesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Shelby. Whitted Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

George was born Oct. 15, 1953, to Charles James and Annie (Ekholt) Wiegand Jr. He grew up on the family farm 30 miles northeast of Shelby. He attended elementary school in Oilmont, graduated from Sunburst High School and attended Helena Vo-Tech. George was a volunteer at the Marias Heritage Center, where his mother, Annie, has lived for the past 14 years. George had been staying in Medford near his son at the time of his death.

George is survived by his mother, Annie Wiegand; children, Charles Wiegand of Medford, and Amber Wiegand of Ephrata, Wash.; and siblings Dorothy (Norman) Seymour of Shelby, Sue (Loren) Heavirland of Choteau, Patricia Marks of Mesa, Ariz., Karen (Murray) Taylor of Oilmont, and Polly Ettinger of Great Falls. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Wiegand Jr; his brother, Charles Wiegand III; and his sister, Sally Caplis.
