It's somewhat ironic that Pete posted about my brother in law, Stan Evans. Stan passed away early in the morning of February 3, 2016 from multiple medical complications. He and my sister Cathy have been living in Havre during the past year. Please add Stan and Cathy in your thoughts and prayers.

Class of 1980!  I would like to know who is interested in riding in the parade if I bring a special float for us.  Represent!  All you would need to do is wear an old NTCHS shirt of sorts and bring some candy or something else to toss to the throng of folks and I will provide the ride.  Please let me know!!!!!   No it is not the green VW bug...   Gwen

Joann and I were originally planning on attending this reunion and were really looking forward to it.  It looks like now we are not going to be able to make it.  With everything that is going on with trying to get started on the new house, I'm mainly just running out of vacation time.  For those of you that have expressed an interest in the house, no, we have not started yet, but hope to start on Tuesday.  I'll believe it when I see that first shovel stuck in the ground.

Here's a brief update on Joann and I since the last reunion.  Leading up to this last year our lives pretty much just moved along as it always had.  Then, Joann finally retired at the end of 2015 after working for 47 years as a dental assistant.  With her retirement we are finally able to move forward with the plans for the new house in Olympia, WA.  We sold our house in Issaquah back in April and have moved into an apartment down here while the new house is being built.  I'm still working (from home) at Avaya doing the same customer support work I was doing at the time of the last reunion.  I only have 332 weeks to go to my retirement.

I hope everyone has a great time at the reunion.  I wish we could be there.  We'll definitely plan on attending the next one.  You can catch me on Facebook if you want to keep up with what is going on with the house.

Take care!

Just a 'wondering' kind of thing.

Nothing new, here, but even from long ago, we have had a few significant and persistant AWOL members from the Class of '70...

They might not even want to be found (who knows?), but if someone out there knows a bit on whatever became to these three long-time absent members, I'd be interested to know:

Mike Jansky

Kris Stewart

Carla Wood

Anyone know?

I was also wondering about Larry Hurlbert, too, even though I know he probaby spent most of his high school over in Plentywood.  Happens to the best of us...

last I knew, Carla is in Great Falls and owns "the Other Place" up across from the Holiday Village Mall.

Mike must not want to be found.  He is alive, though.

Well, J, that certainly is his right...

Some of us get ornerier as we get older.  Life happens that way... good to hear that he is still around, though.  Next time you speak with him, be sure and say hello, for me, okay?

Dear Sunburst Alumni:

I am exhausted after an amazing weekend of renewing friendships and connecting with so many classmates.  During my comments Saturday evening I neglected to thank the Reunion Committee members for all the volunteer hours and hard labor contributed in making this years event, the one to top next time.  To all those who set up and took down tables and chairs, set out and picked up the trash, made NTCH can covers to make it look up-town, the actors in the play, the food vendors, the entertainment orchestrators, the local musical talents of Scott and Rex, shutterbug Mike,  shuttle drivers,  ticket takers,  tour guides,  parking lot directors, and the supporting businesses..THANK YOU!  Those same volunteers were back at it Sunday morning, getting Sunburst back to normal  before mom and dad discovered we'd had a party!

Thank you to those who traveled crosscountry and the next county over for taking the time to re-connect with a community that gave us a good education and foundation for the endeavors you undertook.

Be good. Stay in touch with those  you care about, do good work, and live with no regrets.

Another awesome reunion!  Thanks to everyone for the great time. I got over heated at the pictures so had to leave and sure regretted seeing you all more!  Always to awesome to see everyone after 49 or 50 years!

To all the Committee who worked so hard to make the reunion so wonderful, thank you, thank you, thank you!  It was truly wonderful to reconnect with so many old friends.  I hope that I can come to the next one.  Maybe we can add an event 'Walker Relay" as many of us are getting a bit slow...  So glad to get to see all those from the Class of '73..  Really enjoyed the Dunk B&B and just being able to be in Sunburst.  The saying is true - 'you know you are home when you can see the hills'.  God Bless and see you all down the road.

Hats off to all of those that made the reunion such success!  You did an amazing job!

When reminiscing with classmates & others, it came to mind - what an incredible group of individuals NTCHS had educated to go forth and prove themselves to the world.  "Coming back" seemed as though coming full circle to where our roots began!

Happy trails to all.....until we meet again....

To the amazing souls who made this reunion possible, Thank you is not enough. All the gratitude I can muster, is not enough. I saw relatives and friends I haven't seen in 50 plus years, and was welcomed into the community like I was just there yesterday. That has always been the Sunburst way. I laughed with the stories of my long time friends, and wept on the shoulders of relatives. I can say, that two of the saddest moments I have ever had, were leaving Sunburst the first time, and leaving Sunburst the last time. I look forward to the next reunion, and hope my health remains good. We did get a chance to drive around and look at the country, and I must say, it is beautiful. Second, third and fourth generation farmers have learned how to be good shepards of the land, and it shows. I wish I could have been there to watch it. Again, thank you. That seems weak, and not nearly enough, but it's all I have. One suggestion I have, is to put the names on both sides of the tag. The breeze made it hard to see names.

Congratulations to everyone putting on the reunion! It was fantastic, well organized. We had a great time and the meals were good. Art Taft did a real nice job with the closing ceremony. The music, entertainment was also very good. Sunburst looked pretty good too. People must have been busy. Thank you very much.

Thank you, Mike Bashor for faithfully taking reunion photos for so many years and making them available to everyone via the reunion site this year, and thank you, Korey for getting them to the gallery for all of us to enjoy.

Again, thank you all for making it an awesome several days!

Thank you to all the great people who prepared for and made the 2016 NTCHS Reunion so much fun!  Everything ran so smoothly this year.  One suggestion is to not schedule entertainment during the class pictures, so that the entertainers could be in their class picture. (Maybe we'll just have to photoshop Rex and Scott -- Midnight Sunshine -- in!! 😜 ). Thanks again for an awesome weekend!

We just want to thank everyone that made the reunion such a big success. Everything worked like clockwork. We have never been to an affair so well organized.

Thank you for the handicapped parking you supplied behind the phone company. Made our off road vehicle (wheelchair) easier to use.

Food was great and was served on time! Many thanks to the volunteers.

Blue skies, yellow shirts, a pink-arrowed trail, and rosy-cheeked walkers and runners... all combined to make a very successful Fun Run during the Reunion.  Because of your generosity, the Sunburst Community Foundation was able to give almost $300 towards the pool.  Thanks for sharing and thanks for participating!
