Howdy Refiners!  I just read "In Memory" tributes to Jerry Svuem, Class of '72, and remembering him so inspired me that I began to reflect on many other fantastic friends from NTCHS.  I think we might consider establishing an "NTCHS Hall of Fame" to recognize outstanding students, teachers, administrators, whatever.  The hard part, for me, is that I consider all our gang pretty darn special.  Still, I want to put this idea out there for consideration.  We can reflect on all aspects, athletic, academic, all-around-good-guy/girl, lifetime achievments, or whatever.  And, it should include those still living as well.  What say you?

Terry Roark Walston

Leonard and Betty Roark had kids attending Sunburst schools continuously from the fall of 1953 to the spring of 1986... 32 school years.  That is a lot of mornings getting kids out of bed and onto the bus!!  We are wondering if any local family can beat that!!!

Hi Everyone!

My husband and I have talked things through and decided we needed to go on a motorcycle ride and what a better ride than to Sunburst Montana!!!! :) I am so excited to be attending the Reunion, granted that I did not graduate from NTHS but I did attend the school for a short period of time and would also to see some of my old friends.... C-U-There!!!!!!

Kay (Katie) Lawson-Gilfilen

JIM BERGENE, principal for awhile, lives in Oregon.  He wrote "Several things have come up that will preclude me from attending Sunburst reunion."  He said he would love to hear from former students, and "Toni and I cherished our time in Sunburst".

He has no email address.

Here's his snailmail address:

Jim Bergene, 169 N Wightman St, Ashland, OR, 97520

His wife, Toni, died recently of an extended illness.

Jim spent April, 2010, in the mideast visiting his son and family.

Do any of you plan on participating in the parade on Saturday morning? If so, could you drop me a message at teri.iverson@gmail.com or on this forum page so that we will have some idea of if we have enough entries for a parade.  Car show people...please consider putting your cars in the parade... Cheerleaders....walk along or ride and do old school cheers etc.  Let me know, thanks,

""GREAT JOB" for the Reunion planners..

Our 1994 and 2004 Nifty fifty Reunions had a Golf tournament...

Is anyone interested in a Golf Game this year?

Eunice Vasboe Olson

Hi, This is Eunice Vasboe Olson(58) in Grants Pass, OR just wondering where there will be parking.  I talked to Don Eckleberry, yesterday, and he told me that Joe White said that there will be between 800 and 1000 people there.  Wow, that has to double or triple the population of Sunburst.  The population was around that figure when we lived there.  It will be fun, if not mind boggling, to be there and trying to get around.  I'll look at the pictures of the area and maybe, get a sense of where things are.  We will be on our way to Montana this Saturday, the 26th and will check in to Sunburst on the morning of the 2nd.  We have family in Cut Bank and Choteau to contact before getting there.  Let us know if we have to walk in from across the freeway or how to navigate the streets.                                              Blessings, 'til then.  Eunice Vasboe Olson (58)

Teri, I'll bring my comp. race truck down for the parade (mud drags), be warned its noisey :D.

I want the reunion committee to give themselves a resounding standing ovation and a huge pat on the back.  I don't know how to thank you all for such a fantastic week end!  Everything worked so well--I would imagine there were glitches in the background, but we sure as heck didn't know about them.  I tried not to shed any tears (although, that's the nature of the beast), and I truly enjoyed seeing and greeting so many former classmates and upper and lower classmates--and, as Joe said, the hugs were so wonderful!  Hope to see and hear from you all--keep everyone posted on the changes in your lives.  We're all interested in what each and everyone of you do and where you go in this world.  Share the joy and the sorrow--it helps--and it's what makes the world go round!  May you all have a glorious 4th and again KUDO'S to the organizing committee!  Love you all, Arlene Alme Lager  ( haven't used my maiden so much for eons--what a blast from the past)

Congratulations to the reunion committee -- just a fantastic job and you guys should be really proud -- and probably really tired and glad it's over!

Hi Refiners!  I'm searching for adjectives to describe the 2010 Refiner Reunion.  Best I can come up with is that it was--for me, at least--a SPIRITUAL experience.  Never before have I seen, nor do I expect to see again in this life, so much LOVE.  I could literally feel it in the air.  The reunion committee, North Toole County and Sunburst citizenry did a fantastic job.  Thank you all.  My Subaru never left the pavement, but I flew home at 40,000 feet in my heart!  WOW!   Joe White

I have just finished looking through all of the photos you all put up!  WOW - I am sad to have missed this but from what I saw everyone was having an excellent time.   I saw some familiar faces and a lot of faces I did not recognize?!  I guess I have been gone too long!

My hats off to the All-Class Reunion Committee...what a wonderful idea and what an awesome experience.  We are all blessed to have experienced this great event.

As everyone else has said, WHAT A GREAT JOB REUNION COMMITTEE!!! Kay & I had a great time visiting with everyone. It was a joy to see some old, and I mean old, friends. Everyone deserves a huge pat on the back for orginizing and putting on this event. I just wish we could do it more often, but then it would not be so special. I know there were people there that we did not get to talk to but it was hard to get to everyone. Again, thanks for the memories and getting us all together.

Pinky (alias Henry)

I can't begin to thank everyone who worked on the reunion enough.  It was glorious, wonderful, and the best organized event I've attended.  The hugs, laughter, tears, dancing, memories made me realize how wonderful our little town and school were.  We were blessed in so many ways living in Sunburst, Montana.  I know all the Gottfried family had a wonderful time.  Thank you.

Ditto to Evelyn's comments.  I don't know how you guys did it.  You must have been working in your sleep as well as daytime for months to pull this off so successfully.

Thanks!

I have never had this much fun in two days in my life!  Kudos to everyone that helped with planning & then everyone that helped with putting the plans in motion & also cleaning up after.  Korey, You did such a good job, especially with getting this site so people can contact each other!  Honestly I think your crowning touch for the weekend was the welcome flags all over town!   I think that everything you guys planned & did worked!  Thanks!  Nona Johannsen Byrne

Congratulations to everyone on the reunion committee and to all the volunteers! It was a fantastic reunion. Everything seemed to run like clockwork, the meals were good, and the price very reasonable. We had a great time. This web site is wonderful, well done.

It was great to see all of you, friends and classmates.

I want to write and tell you how much we enjoy this web site. We couldn't be  there, but after seeing all the pictures and reading all the comments, I almost feel like we were. Thanks alot for this and hope everyone keeps posting their  pictures.

Also, thanks to the commitee for posting the pictures of the t-sgirts that Rod's sisters were selling to help Rod with his battle with cancer. We so appreciate being from such a great and caring community. Fae (Hannon) Stene
